U.S. Representative Charlie Crist (D-St. Petersburg) issued the following statement after House passage of H.R. 7691, Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022, bipartisan legislation that will provide nearly $40 billion in additional military and humanitarian aid for Ukraine. This funding builds on previous efforts to respond to Russia's illegal, barbaric invasion of Ukraine. It will support Ukrainian armed forces fighting for freedom and Ukrainian civilians who have been impacted. The bill, which passed the House by a vote of 368-57, now moves to the Senate.

"Ukrainians are fighting for their freedom and their future against Russia's unprovoked and illegal war," said Rep. Crist. "Tonight, the People's House acted decisively to provide critical additional support to Ukraine -- including resources to help Ukrainian families who have been forced to flee their homes. This vote makes clear that the U.S. remains as committed as ever to supporting Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democracy. Slava Ukraine!"

H.R.7691 includes the following funding:

* $6 billion in security assistance for Ukraine and our allies.
* $4 billion in foreign military funding for Ukraine and other impacted countries, including NATO allies, to counter Russia.
* $900 million in refugee support services for Ukrainian families.
* $8.7 billion for the Economic Support Fund to respond to emergent needs in Ukraine and support the continuity of Ukraine's democratic government.
* $5 billion to address global food insecurity due to the conflict.
* $4.35 billion in International Disaster Assistance to help people suffering from hunger as a result of the conflict.
